Other tests may include a lab test and culture that will detect an infection.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antibiotics<\/li>\n<li>Increased fluid intake (especially water)<\/li>\n<li>A heating pad or medications to relieve pain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Prevention<\/h2>\n<p>There are steps you can take to minimize the chances of contracting a UTI, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emptying the bladder frequently, as soon as you feel the need to go, and completely emptying the bladder.<\/li>\n<li>Drinking lots of fluid, especially water.<\/li>\n<li>Wiping front to back.<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding potentially irritating or scented feminine products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Unsure about your symptoms?
